Navigating UWG library resources and research

Look for a specific journal

Most of the library's journals are available electronically and can be found in the E-Journals list. Some journals, however, are only available in print. Below is information on 1) how to search for both print and electronic journals simultaneously and 2) how to search only for e-journals.

Searching for all journals

To search for both electronic and print journals, search the Library Catalog. Enter the journal title into the search box. Under the "All Items" drop-down menu select "Journals," and then click the Search icon.  When you locate the correct version of the journal (sometimes there are multiple records with different publication dates), look for the access options. Most journals have an "Online Access" link that takes you to the journal.

If you need a specific journal article that is only available in print and prefer a digital copy, you can request a scanned digital copy through Interlibrary Loan.

Search for e-journals only

The e-Journals list list is available through the UWG library catalog. You can search for a specific journal or browse all journals. Access the e-Journal list either through the linked text above, or in the catalog by clicking  the "FIND E-JOURNALS" link in the top navigation menu.

If we have the journal, click on its name in the list of matching results. A new window will pop up listing the databases that offer access to the journal and the dates of publication that are available.

A screenshot showing a search for a specific journal title can be found in three different databases, but each database offers full-text coverage for different years.

If we don't have electronic access to the journal, request a specific journal article through Interlibrary Loan.
