The new student registers of West Georgia College were indexes of the incoming class of students for a specific graduation year. These were printed by various student organizations and departments on campus over time including the Student Government Association, the Student Activities Office, and iterations of Greek life organizations (West Georgia College Greek Affairs, West Georgia College Order of Omega, and West Georgia College Greek System).
These publications date concurrently to the college’s yearbook The Chieftain, which was printed from 1934-1981. These served as a yearbook and guide to new students in particular. These registers took on different titles, including New Student Register in 1971 and 1973, Freshman Register in 1974, The Freshman Revue in 1985, The New Student Record in 1986-1988, Who’s New on Campus in 1991 and 1992, and would return as The New Student Record in 1993.
