Latin American Studies

Welcome

This guide lists some of the resources you will use as you research Latin America, the Caribbean, and Latinos in the United States. To do comprehensive research, you will want to use this guide in conjunction with a subject-specific guide such as literature or economics.

The General Info tab provides links to encyclopedia and other online reference books to help you get background information for your research.

Several other libraries have specific pages about different kinds of Latin American research. A page you will almost definitely want to visit is the Latin American Network Information Center from the University of Texas at Austin. It has links to webpages about and from different Latin American countries. See their page for links to government agencies from different countries.

Another page you might want to visit is this guide to free online films and videos from and about Latin America.
