Explore Ingram is a virtual tour designed to help students who are new to UWG (first-semester and transfer) get comfortable with the Library -- both the building and the services we offer. It's a fun, interactive way for students to get familiar with their Library. The tour includes a walkthrough of each floor, highlighting different areas of interest. It also includes a virtual tour of our website and information that is specific for our Newnan-based students. Additionally, we incorporate some "Easter eggs" as well to make it more interesting.
Throughout the tour, students complete brief (anonymous) check-ins and Explore Ingram finishes with a short quiz where students can enter their name and let us know which faculty member(s) assigned it. If a student is asked to complete Explore Ingram for more than one class, they just need to enter all of the information once and we'll notify the relevant faculty. Due to the nature of the assessments in Explore Ingram we recommend a Pass / No Pass (done / not done) grade if assigning the virtual tour for course points.
To use Explore Ingram, just link to it from your CourseDen site: https://westga.libwizard.com/f/exploreingram and let Ingram Outreach (ingramoutreach@westga) know so we can be sure to send you your students' progress.
Our goal with Explore Ingram is to offer an engaging low-pressure way to get comfortable with both our physical and online spaces so students can feel more confident when they use the Library services. It does not cover the research process, information literacy, or critical thinking skills. For the latter, please use LibraryDen, Library DIY, library workshops, or our online tutorials.
