iSearch Resources (LIBR1101 - Fall 2016, N91)

This research guide is designed to help students complete iSearch projects in Andrea Stanfield's LIBR1101 class.

A note about encyclopedias

Remember that encyclopedias give broad overviews of topics. They are generally used to get background information about a topic and can help you identify keywords for database searches. Most instructors prefer that you not use encyclopedias in your papers, but don't dismiss them as a place to learn a little about your topic before you begin your research.

For iSearch, you may use an encyclopedia as one of your sources if you think it helps give you a better understanding of your topic. Just make sure you explain this in your annotation.
