UWG alumna and author of Sisters in Arms, Kaia Alderson, visited the University of West Georgia on Monday, November 7, 2022. She began the day with a book signing at Underground Books at the Square in Carrollton and concluded with an evening talk and book reading at the Campus Center.
The evening event was very well attended and featured a special preshow Step Show by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Kappa Delta Chapter, the sorority highlighted in her book. A total of 126 books were distributed to students in advance so they could read them before the book reading and signing.
This visit was made possible through the support of Ingram Library, Phi Kappa Phi, Richards College of Business, and The West Georgia Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
In conjunction with her visit, Ingram Library also hosted several screenings of the documentary The Six Triple Eight in the Library.
