COMMENT BY A UWG STUDENT: This dissertation studies the financial attitude, behavior and literacy of 155 students enrolled in Practical Economics for Daily Life at the author's institution. The quantitative data collected after a survey showed only minimal improvement. The students had a better understanding of financial literacy, though their behavior and attitudes changed very little. The sample group is relatively small for drawing substantive conclusions. Also, the specific wording of surveys can be open to individual interpretations and how the survey questions were derived is not clear. Still, this study and others like it could provide valuable insight into why financial literacy and best practices affect behavioral actions.
