Services for Faculty

ARCHE Cards: Information about how to get user access to libraries that are part of the Atlanta Regional Council for Higher Education (ARCHE). With the UWG ID, faculty and students can access other USG libraries. ARCHE Cards will also give one access to the libraries of Emory, Mercer, and other non-USG institutions.

Circulation Policy for Faculty: Information about the extended borrowing privileges that faculty have.

Copyright: Resources to help guide faculty negotiating issues of copyright.

Database Trials: Before committing financial resources to a database, Ingram Library often has trial subscriptions. Since access to these is temporary and sometimes with different licensing terms than standard subscriptions, they are listed and linked from this page.

Document Delivery Services: Information about how to take advantage of Ingram Library's Document Delivery Service.

Electronic Reserves in D2L (CourseDen): Policies and procedures for putting reserve readings in UWG's Course Management System.

Good Librations: Ingram Library's faculty and staff development in a social setting series.

Grants: Some information and resources for finding grants.

Library Instruction Sessions: Faculty can request a library instruction session tailored to individual courses or assignments. Faculty can also work with Instructional Services Librarians (who have been through pedagogy-design training) to develop assignments that emphasize information literacy and critical thinking skills.

Other libraries' collections: Information about how UWG faculty can access materials owned by other libraries.

Recommendations for Purchase: Faculty are encouraged to recommend materials through their subject librarian. There is also an online form that goes to the Acquisitions Department.

Relocation Guide: A collection of resources to help faculty and staff who are relocating to the UWG area.

Reserve Materials: Information about how to put items on reserve and the different relevant services Ingram Library offers to faculty. See also Electronic Reserves in D2L.

Subject Librarians: A list of contact information for subject-specialist librarians at UWG.

Textbook Alternatives: Information about open access (free) educational resources faculty can use in their classes. See also Affordable Learning Georgia for information about the University System of Georgia (USG) initiative to provide lower-cost textbooks to students.

Thomas B. Murphy Holocaust Teacher Training & Resource Center: A center housed in Ingram Library that offers materials and training for teachers wanting to incorporate holocaust-related curricula.
